Ok this is really bugging me. I wasted about 20k so far, trying over and over to do this. I can get past the Nightmares at the beginning, but when it comes time to run to the smite crawlers, the nightmares wont stop chasing me and they kill me. I'm using Pious Haste, but they still chase me down...and IF i do reach the crawlers, they nightmares will start attacking me, along with the crawlers. Is there anything im doing wrong? Why do they chase me forever? btw, heres my build just for the curious ones...

Skills are: Zealous Vow, Physical Resistance, Mystic Vigor, Mystic Regeneration, Rending Aura, Mystic Sweep, Victorious Sweep, Pious Haste.

Attributes:
Scythe Mastery: 15 (11+3+1)
Mysticism: 9 (8+1)
Wind Prayers: 10 (9+1)
Earth Prayers: 8 (7+1)
Inspiration Magic: 4

Well, I don't know if this will help you, but I have used the same build in the past (When I farmed UW with a Dervish), but here was my setup (I still use the same armor with the same runes as I did for this farm):

Armor:

Windwalker [Scythe Mastery] Hood of Minor Wind Prayers.
Windwalker Robes of Superior Vigor. (Of course you can substitute the Superior for a Major, probably even a Minor)
Windwalker Vambraces of Major Mysticism.
Windwalker Leggings of Minor Earth Prayers.
Windwalker Shoes of Major Scythe Mastery.

Weapons:

Zealous Scythe of Enchanting with "Guided By Fate" Inscribed in it.
Sundering Scythe of Enchanting with "Guided By Fate" Inscribed in it.

You will just need to know when to use which Scythe at certain times.
My Health ends up at 485, and Energy at just 25.

As for running away from the Nightmares, even after you have ran out of their aggro bubble run a little farther away just in case.

Uhm. You are fighting Grasping Darknesses? They have a constant speed buff of +33%. Aatxes have 10%, so it's easy to outrun them. Or are you talking about Dying Nightmare? If so, you are supposed to kill it. It's just 1 hit with scythe, 2 tops.

are you sure you're not mixing up dying nightmares with coldfire nights? 'cause nightmares shouldn't be a problem at all.. in NM they could be killed with 1-2 hits with a (customized) staff...

just try to pull the smites with a long-/flat bow and drag them to a safe spot..
